EXOTIC RAJASTHAN ( 9 Nights / 10 Days)
Jaipur-Bikaner-Jaisalmer-Jodhpur-Udaipur
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT JAIPUR
Arrival at Jaipur - assistance on arrival at airport/
railway station and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 2: JAIPUR
Morning excursion to Amber fort. Make your ascent to the
palace fortress on the gaily-caparisoned elephant back
(optional). Tour the chamber and hallways of the palace,
which are famous for the excellence of their design and
decoration.
Afternoon tour of Jaipur known as "the Pink City of
Rajasthan". Visit the unique Jantar Mantar observatory,
which was built in 1700s, yet even today still looks
futuristic or almost surrealistic. The city palace and its
museum, the hawa mahal or the palace of winds. Overnight at
hotel.
DAY 3: JAIPUR - BIKANER
After breakfast drive to Bikaner. On arrival in Bikaner - a
sightseeing of the city is conducted. Rao Bika, a descendant
of the founder of Jodhpur Jodha, founded this desert town in
the north of the state in 1488. Visit the Junagarh fort
constructed between 1588 and 1599 by Raja Jai Singh, a
general in the Mughal emperor Akbar's army. Also visit
Lalgarh palace museum and camel breeding farm (closed on
Sunday).
Late check in at hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 4: BIKANER - JAISALMER VIA DESHNOK
After breakfast drive towards Jaisalmer. Enroute visiting
Deshnok Karni Mata temple and Pokhran. On arrival at
Jaisalmer check in at hotel RTDC Moomal.
Late afternoon drive to "Sam" for a lifetime sunset sand
dunes experience where camel ride can be organised at an
extra cost(optional). Return to hotel late evening.
Overnight at hotel.
DAY 5: JAISALMER
Morning, sightseeing tour of Jaislamer. It is in the heart
of great Indian desert. Visit the fort - built by Maharawal
Jaisel in 1156 AD - one of the second oldest in Rajasthan
situated on a triangular mount 76 meters above ground level.
Jain temple of 12 century BC Gadsisar tank, folk museum,
Patva-ki-haveli, Salim Singh Haveli and Diwan Nathmal ki
haveli, Badal Niwas Palace. Return to hotel through narrow
cobbled streets. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 6: JAISALMER - JODHPUR
Morning drive Jaisalmer to Jodhpur enroute visiting Osian
which has 16 Jain and Vaishnava temples dating back from 8th
to 11th centuries presenting the grandeur of Indian temple
architecture. All the sixteen temples are within the outer
limit of the village. Continue your drive and check in at
hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 7: JODHPUR
Breakfast at hotel leave for morning sight seeing tour of
Jodhpur - gateway to the desert beyond, home of the Rathores
of Marwar. Visit the
Meharangarh fort, rising up
on a hilly scrap, built on the advice of a hermit, which
over looks the cities blue houses, the image of a old
sentinel. Inside the fort are a number of palaces added by
successive rulers and the canon rampart. Also visit the
Jaswanthada, richly carved white marble cenotaph of Maharaja
Jaswant Singh II, which preserves the genealogy of the
rulers of Jodhpur along with their life-size portraits.
Early afternoon, visiting Mandore gardens set on a plateau
are the ruins of the ancient Marwar capital now surrounded
by beautiful gardens. See the pillared hall of heroes' and
the shrine of the 300 million gods. Return to the old city
walk through Sojati gate, which leads to Sadar bazaar with
its ornate clock tower.
Late afternoon excursion to a Bishnoi village to witness
blackbucks. Freely roam in herds in the countryside. Also
see thatched huts and houses. Men wearing colorful turbans
(headgear) and women in bright outfits working in their
fields with their cattle. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 8: JODHPUR - UDAIPUR
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast morning drive from
Jodhpur to Udaipur en-route visiting Ranakpur. Visit the
famous Jain temples, dating back to the 15th century. Its 29
halls are supported by 1444 pillars none of, which are
similar. The temple abounds with intricate friezes and
sculptures. Includes visit to two more Jain temples and the
temple of the sun god with its erotic sculptures. Continue
your drive to "lake city". Upon arrival check into the hotel
for overnight stay.
DAY 9: UDAIPUR
Breakfast at hotel. Full day sightseeing tour of Udaipur.
This is possibly the most romantic city in Rajasthan. There
would be no doubt as to why it is called "the Venice of the
East". The city, founded by Maharana Udai Singh is situated
on the edge of three lakes and surrounded by the Aravali
mountain ranges. The ambience, climate and history combined
make Udaipur a tourist haven. Morning excursion to famous
temples of Eklingji and Nagda. Afternoon half day city tour
visiting city palace museum, Jagdish temple and Saheliyon ki
Bari. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10 : UDAIPUR/DEPARTURE
Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer from hotel to the
airport / railway station to catch flight / train for onward
destination. |
